The beauty of the Mirage S8? I plugged it in, tweaked the very flexible controls for 5 minutes, and have pretty much left it alone ever since. It just works. I have yet hear it sound strained, hear it bottom out, or notice a gap in low bass in any way. It lurks in the shadows until needed, and then rises to the challenge. I love it for both movies and music.
I'm a big fan of the sleek case design and compact size. The S8 is a great way to fill a small to medium-sized room with tight, deep bass.

I had this for 2 years and will never get rid of it. Its PERFECT for small rooms and especially apartments because it doesnt shake pictures off the walls but it FILLS the sound beautifully. The bass is SOOOOO CLEAN. Great sounding sub. Ive had 10" subs that you grab from CC and Bestbuy for under 2 bills and they are garbage. Look around and you can probably nab this for under $300.

I paid significantly less than the full price, and I feel I got a great sub at a great price. At the full asking price ($368), there are a lot of subwoofers to consider and this is just one of them. Many good subs start at the $300-$350 range and choosing one can be tough.
Price aside, this is a great sub for a smaller to medium size room. I find it extremely musical. It is not sloppy with music and keeps up with a wide variety of stuff my household listens to. This Mirage packs a nice punch with movies too, especially if I turn up the sub level higher for movies (but I usually leave it at my receiver's default). I can feel vibrations in movie action scenes with no problem and this little guy can rattle my walls if I set it high enough.
Don't let the 8in driver turn you off, unless you have a large room to fill up. Velodyne and Hsu both make nice subs with 8in drivers, and both of them are good sub brands too... Read more
